Identification

Mid to large sized pocket gopher that inhabits sandy soils. Usually yellow to pink tint is noticeable on faces with dark brown to gray body and white to light orange belly. They create extensive underground burrows and are considered agricultural pests.

Description
Usually one animal is present per burrow and densities do not exceed 4 animals per acre (9-10 per hectare). They can live up to 1.5 years. Up to 3 litters of 2-6 pups are born annually after short gestations.
